MOVING TIPS

When choosing boxes, purchase good quality boxes designed to do the job. They will be sturdier than left over store packing boxes. Hopewell E-Z Storage sells a complete line of assorted sized boxes as well as tape, bubble wrap, packing paper and shrink wrap to make your packing experience that much easier.

Pack heavier items in smaller sized boxes so they will be lifted easier.

Fill boxes completely and seal them with packing tape. This will ensure that they do not get crushed when stored under other boxes or items.

Protect mattresses and other furniture pieces by wrapping them in plastic covers

Store couches on end to save room.

Take apart furniture pieces such as tables, bookcases, computer desks and store on end. Label all parts for easier assembly.

Use picture boxes to pack pictures and mirrors and store upright.

Label boxes well and on more than one side for easier locating of items. Label boxes with contents and room or keep a log of what is in each box and number the boxes correspondingly.

Our ceilings are 8’ and 12’ high, Remember to maximize use of your unit by storing up. Ex. you can pack boxes on top of tables or dressers.

Leave space around the perimeter of your rental space to allow for air flow.

If possible leave a center aisle to allow easier access to all your goods.

If renting a double door unit pack from the center out to each end, putting the items you are least likely to need in the center and things you may need closer to the doors. In a single door unit  put those items most used close to the front for ease of access.

If you store refrigerator or freezer doors slightly open, clean well before storing and use the interior as extra storage space.

Store valuables toward the rear of the unit.
